The change allows charter campuses to form their own support. The change will offer charters flexibility, money and accountability. Many do not think do not think that school districts and charters could find a collaborative answer for special education.

USC plans to announce two donations totaling $100 million that will fund a new research center with a high-tech building for journalism students. USC trustee and alumnus Ming Hsies plans on giving $50 million. His donation will support research for a field that works at the atomic and molecular level drugs for cancer. The other funds will come from Annenberg Foundation to USC’s School for Communication & Journalism. The latest donation will pay for a large building with studios and newsrooms for the digital age, officials said.

A student names Moenesha Johnson participated in a tutoring program last year for help in math and came back for more this school year. She stated that before tutoring she was getting poor grades and now with tutoring her grades have gone up. Surprizingly, the Hillsborough Police Department is partnering with UNC students to offer free tutoring sessions to county students. The program connects Habitat for Humanity volunteers with after-school tutoring sessions that are held at the local police station every Monday and Tuesday of the school year.

With our economy the way it is schools are not hiring teachers and overcrowding the classrooms. To begin the year many schools were understaffed because of the financial burden laying teachers off would be. The good thing about this is that schools now know how many student will be at there school and schools are beginning to hire again. In the meantime there are many great qualified tutors who are tutoring for private firms.
